Mesabi Metallics announced a $15 billion integrated steelmaking complex planned for Lee County, Iowa. The company expects at least 1,750 full-time operating jobs. The facility would combine direct-reduced iron and electric arc furnace steelmaking, supplied by the company's Minnesota iron ore operation. First steel production is targeted for 2030, according to Reuters. AFT excludes construction jobs and the separate $3 billion Minnesota investment.

Amazon plans to buy and equip an existing 585,000-square-foot building in Greenwood, Indiana, for an advanced manufacturing operation serving its fulfillment centers and robotics network across North America. Planned work includes fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating and assembly. Announced on September 24, 2026, the project would bring more than $100 million in investment and 300 manufacturing and engineering jobs by the end of 2028. AFT records $100 million, the minimum Amazon announced, and the 300 jobs at this facility. Amazon's other investments are tracked separately where they qualify. Amazon expects the operation to open in 2028.

Pirelli plans to expand its tire plant in Rome, Georgia, with an investment of approximately €1 billion, or roughly $1.2 billion. The first phase will add robotized tire production, with output increasing from 2028. A second phase will add a fully automated premium-tire manufacturing facility, bringing the plant's annual capacity to approximately 6 million car tires by 2033. Georgia says the expansion will create 1,000 new permanent jobs, with most hiring beginning in 2029. AFT counts those 1,000 new jobs; the plant's 234 current employees are not included. Expansion work is planned to begin in 2027.

The Okonite Company announced a new approximately 552,000-square-foot high-voltage cable manufacturing plant on its existing property at 2276 Rowesville Road in Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, South Carolina. The $400 million project is expected to create 105 permanent jobs. Construction is expected to begin in Q4 2026 and take roughly two to three years, so the expected opening (approximately 2029) is uncertain. This is a new plant on existing company property and is not merged with any unrelated earlier expansion.

Hanwha Defense USA plans a $2.2 billion campus at the U.S. Army's Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas to manufacture components for 155mm artillery ammunition, including propellant charges and base bleed units. The company describes the development, covering 1,065 acres, as the first U.S. facility of its kind. Its administrative headquarters has opened, with construction scheduled through 2030 and production expected to begin in 2031. Hanwha has described nearly 400 jobs over seven years, with an average wage above $50 an hour. Because that figure is approximate and spread over several years, AFT does not yet list a permanent jobs count.

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is purchasing a large industrial building in Post Falls to manufacture electronic devices that protect, monitor and control critical infrastructure, including power grid protection equipment. SEL expects the facility to initially create approximately 250 manufacturing careers and to be fully operational in 2027. SEL's president has put the investment at $150 million, covering the building, infrastructure upgrades, equipment and other setup costs. This project is separate from SEL's Nampa facility.

Hitachi Energy plans a $528 million transformer factory at the Copiah County Industrial Park in Gallman, Mississippi. The 45-acre site is about 6.5 miles from the company's existing Crystal Springs plant. Transformer production will move to Gallman when the new factory opens, expected in 2029, and the Crystal Springs building will remain in use for warehousing, training and other operations. AFT records the Mississippi Development Authority's figure of 654 new permanent jobs; the 475 people already working at Crystal Springs are not included. The $528 million covers the Gallman factory, equipment and infrastructure improvements. Construction is expected to begin later in 2026.

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories announced more than $150 million in investment to establish electronic-device manufacturing in an existing 103,000-square-foot building in Nampa, Idaho. The investment covers the building and manufacturing equipment. The facility will produce devices that protect, monitor and control critical infrastructure, including power grids, and is initially expected to create approximately 250 manufacturing jobs. Operations are expected in 2027. AFT records the conservative $150 million investment floor and 250 announced jobs. This project is separate from SEL's Boise, Post Falls and other manufacturing expansions.

Wiwynn announced more than $1.6 billion in facility-specific investment to establish server-system and rack manufacturing and integration operations in Socorro, Texas, with nearly 1,000 new advanced-manufacturing jobs expected by end of 2027. Amazon serves as the anchor customer for the facility.

Suniva is converting an existing 621,468-square-foot building in Laurens County, South Carolina, into a factory that will make solar cells with 4.5 gigawatts of annual production capacity. In a September 8, 2026 SEC filing, the company raised the plant's estimated investment to about $600 million, up from $350 million in April, and confirmed 564 new manufacturing jobs. Production is expected to begin in late 2027 and reach full output in 2028. AFT counts the $600 million factory investment; Suniva's separate $835 million fundraising is company financing and is not included.

SpaceX announced Starbase Louisiana, a planned $100 billion spaceport campus in the Pecan Island area of Vermilion Parish. At full buildout, the campus is expected to include five launch complexes with two launch pads each, propellant production and storage, power generation, vehicle-processing facilities, and supporting launch infrastructure. Louisiana Economic Development reports more than 3,000 direct new jobs over 10 years; AFT records the conservative figure of 3,000 direct permanent jobs only and excludes the state’s indirect, construction, and potential longer-term workforce estimates. Construction is expected to begin in 2027. Reuters reports a first Starship launch target of 2029, while LED describes initial operations coming online in 2030; both timing statements are preserved as a source conflict.

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) announced a $200 million manufacturing campus at the Brooks site in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, producing power-distribution systems, panels, switchgear, and switchboards. The project comprises two approximately 500,000-square-foot buildings developed as phases of one project (not separate records): the first building is expected operational in 2028 and the second in 2030. AFT conservatively records 448 permanent jobs tied to the committed figure, not the broader 3,000 company target.

Genentech, a wholly owned Roche Group member, plans a new device fill-finish manufacturing facility at its 75-acre Hillsboro Technical Operations campus at 4625 NE Brookwood Parkway in Washington County, Oregon. Announced August 20, 2026, the approximately $750 million project will double the site and add end-to-end filling for advanced drug-delivery devices, including pre-filled syringes and autoinjectors, serving Roche and Genentech medicines. It is expected to create 250 high-wage permanent manufacturing jobs and approximately 200 construction jobs, with commercial operations expected in 2031. AFT records the 250 permanent manufacturing jobs and excludes construction employment, existing campus employment, distribution operations and the unallocated Roche/Genentech $50 billion national commitment.

Amazon announced plans for a new Austin facility that will manufacture robotics systems supporting its operations network. The company expects the project to create 300–500 manufacturing and engineering jobs; AFT records the conservative floor of 300 permanent jobs. Amazon described the development only as multi-billion-dollar, so AFT leaves the facility-specific investment undisclosed rather than inferring a numeric amount.

Bristol Myers Squibb plans a roughly $2.3 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing campus at Generation Park in Houston. The approximately 600,000-square-foot campus will use modular buildings that can be adapted to make different medicines, including small-molecule drugs, biologics and antibody-drug conjugates. It will support manufacturing from late-stage development through commercial launch. BMS announced the site on August 10, 2026, and expects nearly 500 initial jobs in production, maintenance, engineering, quality control and site leadership. AFT records 489 permanent jobs, the figure in the state incentive application. No construction start or opening date has been announced. AFT's figures cover this campus alone; BMS's broader corporate commitments, research spending, and construction and indirect jobs are not included. Eli Lilly's plant at Generation Park is a separate project.

BeOne Medicines announced a discrete $300 million Princeton West expansion at its Hopewell Township campus, adding a three-story 145,000-square-foot small-molecule pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and 120 new full-time jobs. The facility will support tablet manufacturing and complement existing campus biologics operations. AFT records the planned 2029 operational timing at year precision only. The $300 million is the additional facility-specific expansion and excludes the original $800 million campus investment and any combined-campus figure exceeding $1 billion.
